Student Code of Conduct

Purpose

The purpose of this Student Code of Conduct is to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. This policy outlines the expectations for student behaviour and the procedures for addressing misconduct.

Scope

This policy applies to all students enrolled at Nibras Academy, both on campus and during off-campus activities related to the institution (e.g., field trips, internships, online learning environments).

Expectations for Student Behaviour

Students are expected to:

  • Respect others: Treat all members of the school community with respect, fairness, and dignity.

  • Follow instructions: Comply with the directions of staff and faculty.

  • Attend regularly: Attend classes and other scheduled activities punctually and consistently.

  • Be responsible: Take responsibility for their actions and decisions.

  • Uphold safety: Avoid any behaviour that threatens the health, safety, or well-being of others.

  • Protect property: Respect Academy property and the belongings of others.

Prohibited Conduct

Students must not engage in:

  • Bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.

  • Academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating, plagiarism).

  • Physical or verbal abuse.

  • Possession or use of illegal substances or weapons.

  • Theft, vandalism, or destruction of property.

  • Disruptive behaviour that interferes with teaching, learning, or operations.

  • Unauthorised use of technology or digital devices.

Disciplinary Actions

Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warning

  • Parent/guardian notification 

  • Suspension 

  • Expulsion

Policy Review and Updates

This policy will be reviewed annually by school administration and updated as necessary to reflect current laws, educational best practices, and community needs.

Acknowledgment

All students and their parents or guardians (if applicable) must acknowledge receipt and understanding of this policy at the beginning of each academic year.
